The Misses Keep On Coming · Aug 17, 06:22 PM

Somehow I managed to book a show with two of the most well-known artists in DC who traditionally pack large venues around town. The show was amazing. The various players were showcased in a manner they likely will never be seen or heard in again. Rising to the occasion, I felt as if we played one of our best shows. I even dressed as a “mafia hitman at a barmitzvah” as Michael described it. Fancy tie and all. My favorite music writer and a DC legend came to the show. A few of my favorite bands had members in the audience.

Yet no one else came. The room was pretty bare all things considered and it earned me a good lashing from the booker. Always what you want to hear after a good show…

This little website is kind enough to tell me who visits it (well – sort of – I get IP addresses.) I recently was shocked to see that folks had logged in from EMI and Beggars as well as a few other labels. I have no idea what brought them here and sadly none of them contacted me after a visit.

Somehow I am doing everything right – yet earning none of the rewards. Glum times.
