Do You Hear a Humming on the Line? · Sep 7, 11:09 PM

Trying to steal an hour of recording time (I especially need to get Sad at Me down if I have any hope of Lissy playing banjo on it…) I found that turning off the a/c, sending the girls away and putting the dogs out doesn’t quite cover it. My father in-law managed to call during the process which may indeed stay on the recording. The classic part is that he wanted to know if I heard a “hummm” on the line. On his side. Where only he can hear it. Typical.

I managed a serviceable version and it actually features me playing guitar with a pick for once. When I wrote the song I always heard my voice as the backing vocal which is what is there now. However… Michael has been singing that part live for months now and I miss hearing him on the track now that I recorded myself performing it. May need to be fixed soon.

I also put together a room mic’d version of “You Turned Honey” together but I may scrap that and try again. Not much time to decide so we will see cats and kittens. We shall see. Back to rooting for Britney. Whoops – Kobe Rapist is on so TV off.
