So Sweet · Sep 17, 06:53 PM
I haven’t heard from Lissy since she put down some backing vocals and banjo on “Sad at Me.” She was home in Atlanta and her father (who she is extremely close with) was in the hospital and it seemed he was not likely to be leaving it. I hope the song let her mind wander to other matters if only for a moment. I know she was not away from her Dad’s side for long. She is a total sweetheart (if you like pop and bluegrass mixed together than check out her band – Junior League. Totally different from what I do but in a good way.) There is a cracking in her vocal on the song that belies the sadness and fatigue the situation was putting her through. It fits better with the song but I would rather it weren’t there.
